We had the mentality to come back': Ramos praise Real Madrid in Betis win

Ramos scored the winning goal from the spot to help us bag all three points.

The Madrid captain also defended the referee by saying his decisions weren't "intentional".

Speaking after the 2-3 win over Real Betis, Sergio Ramos said: "We had the mentality to come back after a bad final half-hour of the first half.

"The key was to equalise quickly [after half time]. I'm sure the opponent feels hard done by but the referee did his best and never did anything intentionally."

Real Madrid registered their first win of the new season and there were plenty of talking points in what was an interesting game overall. Ramos scored the winning goal from the penalty spot that gave us all three points.

After a drab draw with Real Sociedad in the La Liga opener, this is a good starting point for us. And hopefully, the mentality that Ramos is speaking of will get stronger in the games to come.

However, there were some controversial moments as Betis were reduced to 10 men after Emerson was handed a red card. Nevertheless, we've got a win and now, our focus should be on the next game.
