The Belgian pulled off an incredible save in the initial stages of the game.
Zidane lauded Courtois for being a "decisive" presence between the sticks.
Speaking after the win over Real Betis, Zinedine Zidane explained: "With [Luka] Jovic and [Karim] Benzema I was looking to play in the opposite field.
"We can play in many ways. [Thibaut] Courtois has been decisive as many times lately.
"We know what Thibaut can do, happy with his game and with what we have done."
Courtois made an excellent save in the opening moments of the game to deny Betis from gaining an advantage. He was brilliant for Real Madrid in the previous campaign as well and was a cornerstone behind our 34th La Liga triumph.
As a matter of fact, the Belgian goalkeeper conceded the least number of goals (25) in the league last season.
After making a good start in the new term, hopefully, Courtois will continue giving his best as we attempt to defend our title.
