Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu doesn't consider resigning despite the vote of no

The president doesn't want to leave in the middle of the serious coronavirus crisis.

Josep Maria Bartomeu doesn't consider resigning despite the vote of no confidence, reliable Marsal Llorente of Mundo Deportivo reports.

He believes that leaving Barcelona would be irresponsible because the club is currently in the middle of the coronavirus crisis.

Yet it could be not Bartomeu's decision to stay in charge of the Catalan club because the vote of no confidence is expected to proceed.

Everything indicates that all needed signatures to launch the motion of no confidence will be gathered today.

The figure of 16,500 votes was needed to enter the next stage of the president's impeachment and 15,557 of them were approved yesterday.

As for the coronavirus crisis, Barca are indeed suffering greatly from the consequences as the club closed the 2019/20 financial year with a €97m loss.

The club also reported total debt of €488m.

Reliable Catalan sources claim that Barcelona are now proposing a new round of pay cuts for club employees which will also apply to professional athletes.
