Chelsea fans react as Azpilicueta drags Abraham aside during penalty clash with Jorginho vs Crystal palace
Some amazing leadership from our captain today that put the icing on the cake in what was a fantastic performance.
After Chelsea earned their 2nd penalty of the game, Tammy Abraham seemed hell-bent on taking the spot-kick ahead of Jorginho, who had already netted a goal from 12 yards.

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta stepped in and pulled Abraham away, presumably explaining to him to respect the first-choice penalty taker and not being greedy at this time.
Abraham was not the happiest man in the world as he walked away from the ball and Jorginho netted his 2nd goal of the game - however, Chelsea fans loved Azpi's no-nonsense approach to the situation!
Love the fact that Azpi stood his grounds in deciding the second penalty taker. These lads from our academy gotta respect the hierarchy in the pitch.— Cross˚ (@Elcrucifixio) October 3, 2020
Good one skip @CesarAzpi ππΎππΎ
Good leadership from Azpi. Glad he controlled the situation.— Tom Overend (@tovers98) October 3, 2020
Well done Capitano
Azpi has seemingly learnt from the last two seasons. Where there was the penalty debacle between Barkley and willian. As well as the Kepa refusing to go off in the carabao cup final under Sarri.— Chessy Hour (@ChessyHour) October 3, 2020
Very happy to see that if I’m honest leadership there.

Glad Azpi told Tammy to go away there. Childish to fight about it, it just puts more pressure on the taker.— ✍️ (@CatenaccioEra) October 3, 2020
3amhoe (Reddit): 'I understood why he wanted it since it was 3-0, I also understood why Azpi stepped in and kept the protocol for pens. It’s over and done with. Looking further into it is just daft and people slandering Tammy need to chill.'
OlSmokeyZap (Reddit): 'He is a young player, played really well today, he deserved a goal, and I don’t blame him for wanting to take the pen. Good on Azpi for resolving the dispute!'
Shivam Thakur (Facebook): Unnderstandble regarding Tammy and great leadership by Azpi to solve the issue there. Nothing much about that incident regardless, I'm sure they'll all be fine in the dressing room.
Mana (TalkChelsea): 'Abraham had a number of opportunities today to put the ball in the back of the net. He didn’t take them. We need goals to up our GD. In these rare moments, well done to Azpi for showing leadership about who to take the PK.'
