Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum reacts to Barcelona rumours: I don't think it was that serious'

Koeman reportedly requested Barca sign Wijnaldum but the midfielder ended up staying at Liverpool.

However, he doesn't exclude that a move could happen in the future.

"Barcelona rumours? I don’t think it was that serious, otherwise, you would have read a bit more, or more would have happened. There was nothing concrete. I didn’t have to think about it," Liverpool Echo quote Giorginio Wijnaldum saying.

"I will stay on [with Liverpool] it looks like now. My contract will run for another 10 months. It could still change, of course, you never know that in football. So we'll see."

According to earlier reports, Ronald Koeman personally asked the club to sign Wijnaldum. However, the Dutch midfielder ended up staying at Liverpool despite the Reds not offering him a new contract, at least for now.
