Seedorf has named reasons why Barcelona captain Leo Messi will never decline in many more years to come; makes a striking contrast with Hazard

Seedorf believes that Messi will continue showing the same level as long as he stays fit and motivated.

He doubts that Hazard has the motivation to reach the same level as Leo and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Clarence believes that Neymar and De Bruyne are among the candidates to replace the two football giants.

"If they stay in good physical condition and motivated, both Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to look at the highest level. The question is whether we will see the younger generation raise their level of play," Clarence Seedorf has told Goal when asked to name his main candidates for the Ballon d'Or.

"That is what I want to see because Cristiano and Messi have shown during the last 12 to 13 years their ability to continue doing their 'things'. There are several players who can take their places, such as Neymar or Kevin De Bruyne.

"We also have Eden Hazard, who I always said could get there, but the question I would ask is: are you motivated to be the best? And then there's Romelu Lukaku, who took a leap last season. "

As a reminder, the Ballon d'Or won't be awarded this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Messi remains the player with the most Ballons d'Or, having won the award six times.
