Three players who could be very important for Barcelona this October apart from Messi

October is going to be the make it or break it month for Koeman.

The month of October will be a crucial one for Barcelona's season, as they are going to play Real Madrid — their main rivals in La Liga — and Juventus — their main rivals in the Champions League group stage. Besides them, Blaugrana has also got to play Getafe and Ferencvaros.

In order for the intense few weeks to go as smooth as possible for the Catalans, we believe that these three (hopefully four) players need to at their absolute best. We're leaving Leo Messi aside for obvious reasons.

1. Philippe Coutinho

So far, Philippe Coutinho has been even better than we expected. Ronald Koeman's 4-2-3-1 set-up perfectly fits the Brazilian, no wonder he's already recorded two assists and a goal. The coach has been trying to keep the player fresh by always subbing him off in the second half, and it's been working well for him. Hopefully Phil returns in his best form from national duty.

2. Ansu Fati

With Luis Suarez gone, Ansu Fati seems to have become the main finisher of the team, as Messi and Coutinho are more focused on creating goalscoring chances. With three goals, the 17-year-old is currently the team's top goalscorer. The match against Sevilla was a difficult one for Fati, but his call-up for the national team should boost his confidence.

3. Gerard Pique

Usually, we talk about our the defenders only when they are doing things wrong but Gerard Pique deserves all the praise in the world for the way he has started the 2020/21 season. While the Blaugrana community sang Fati's and Coutinho's praises, Pique's good performances went overlooked. But maybe that's the exact reason Gerard has been doing this well. Keep it up, presidente!

4. Frenkie de Jong

Barca have switched to a 4-2-3-1 set-up which is, in theory, supposed to benefit Frenkie de Jong. However, the Dutchman has been playing so far worse than he did in a 4-3-3 formation at the end of last season. We hope that De Jong soon returns to his older version. Maybe the international break will serve as a breath of fresh air for the 23-year-old.
