Transfer not yet over for Manchester United as they have a week to complete the signing of Sarr

Manchester United might have failed in completing the signing of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr on the deadline day - but could yet join the club this month.

The Manchester Evening News says United made an offer of an initial season-long loan with the option to buy at £25million, but Watford are holding out for an outright permanent deal. United prefer a loan.

The Hornets value the 22-year-old at around £45million and would be keen to sell if they received a permanent bid somewhere near that valuation. Liverpool registered an interest in him earlier in the window.

United are eager to sign a first team right-wing option on deadline day after unsuccessful attempts to sign Jadon Sancho and Ousmane Dembele in this summer window.

The transfer transfer deadline for Football League clubs is not until October 16th but United would need to complete a deal by Tuesday (October 6th) if he is to be registered for their upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign.
