Bruno to become fastest United midfielder to reach 20 goals

The Portuguese midfielder bagged a brilliant brace against Basaksehir. He sarcastically says that ‘penalties helped’ him reaching the impressive feat.

When asked about how he feels upon becoming the fastest Man United midfielder to reach 20 goals, Bruno Fernandes replied with a sarcastic smile: “Penalties help. Everyone will say that for sure.”

He also added: “I'm happy for that, my teammates have helped me for sure. It was really important that everyone helped me in the first games, the first days, so everything I'm doing on the pitch is with the help of my teammates and staff and everyone.”

Fernandes has scored quite a few penalties for United, but that’s because he’s so good at taking them. He shut up his doubters with a thunderous strike to put the Red Devils in the lead against Istanbul Basaksehir, before scoring an easy tap-in and sacrificing his hattrick by allowing Marcus Rashford to take the penalty.
