I'm close to full fitness: Bale

Tottenham star Gareth Bale believes he is getting closer to full fitness.

The Wales international is on loan at Spurs from Real Madrid for the rest of the season.

He has been slowly earning his way into Jose Mourinho's team for Premier League matches.

And he believes the coming weeks and months will see him get fitter and fitter.

"The more games I'm playing the better the body is adapting," Bale said in a Wales press conference on Tuesday.

"I still need to get a little fitter and sharper but I am getting there.

"It takes a bit of time when you're a bit older, but I am just excited to get back to full fitness and hopefully it won't be too long.

"Leading into the Euros in the summer, that's where I want to be peaking."
