Ter Stegen, Barca brick with 9: Barcelona players rating in narrow Dynamo win

Barcelona took a huge step towards the Champions League's knockout rounds on Wednesday evening with their third win from three games in a 2-1 defeat Dynamo Kiev. The Catalans maintained their perfect start to the European campaign thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique.

Here's how our players fared against Dynamo.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen — 9

By the way, Marc-Andre ter Stegen performed against Dynamo Kyiv, you wouldn't believe that it was his first game after undergoing knee surgery. The German was on top of his form, saving Barcelona on multiple occasions. If not for him, we might have actually lost the game.

Leo Messi — 7.5

Leo Messi got his regular goal from the penalty spot but he's been useful beyond that as well. Ronald Koeman now lets the Argentine drop deeper and start our attacks which is clearly benefiting us.

Gerard Pique — 7.5

Besides the match-winning goal he scored, Gerard Pique looked quite good defensively, although he was caught out of position a few times. Funny how with all the chances Barca created, it was a centre-back to score our second.

Sergio Busquets — 5.5

Sergio Busquets clearly isn't good enough anymore to continue starting for us. He's too slow and doesn't have the stamina to play in a double-pivot and having Miralem Pjanic as his partner clearly doesn't help. Against Dynamo, it was the same old story: misplaced passes, lost balls and poor defensive performance.

Antoine Griezmann — 4

Barca could have killed the game early had Antoine Griezmann not missed an open goal. The Frenchman ghosted the game again, and besides the said opportunity, it's hard to remember what else Griezmann had done before being taken off.

Others: Dest — 6.5, De Jong — 6.5, Alba — 6, Pjanic — 6.5, Pedri — 6.5, Fati — 7, Dembele — 6.5, S.Roberto — 6, Trincao — n/a, Lenglet — n/a, Alena — n/a.
