Thiago Silva: I hope my Chelsea contract will be renewed

The 36-year-old is understood to have a one-year extension option in his contract with the Blues.

“I have learned in [a lot of different competitions] and I use it to help young players,” Thiago Silva said, as quoted by The 5th Stand.

“This is my first experience in the Premier League. I hope to continue to play well and that my contract will be renewed.”

It was reported when Thiago Silva joined Chelsea that he has signed a one-year deal with an extension option for another year.

The veteran centre-back has been rested in several games but whenever he played he was nearly flawless (with one exception).

Frank Lampard has had only the fondest words for the Brazilian throughout his time at Chelsea - it looks like extending his contract will be a no-brainer.
