Fashanu Wades Into Rohr’s Sack Saga As Super Eagles Coach

Fashanu Wades Into Rohr’s Sack

John Fashanu believes Gernot Rohr’s time with the Super Eagles may be coming to an end following the strings of poor results recorded in the outgoing year.

Nigeria failed to win a game in 2020 – a poor which raised concerns over Rohr’s technical abilities.

In an interview with Saturday PUNCH, the former Wimbledon star said, “The game of football is not about chances because it is either you win or you walk, it is quite simple.

“It is like giving somebody a second chance to shoot, obviously, you don’t do that. In a situation where you are having a confrontation, it is exactly the same as this.

“In real a circumstance you always want to win which is very important, I am sorry to say this his time could be up.

“Let’s remember who we are, we are the Eagles and we are meant to fly high but we haven’t been doing much of that recently.”

Fashanu added, “But if I am to advise him I would say you never walk away from football because you just don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.

“You might play against a big team and beat them five-nil and that means the dynamics have changed and that’s football.

“Sooner or later if they are not happy, don’t worry they will be the one to asking you to leave because they will push you out.”
