Sam Kerr hat-trick helped the Chelsea women beat West Ham: Chelsea 3 West Ham 2

Kerr put the Blues women in front with her sliding finish, after the returning Fran Kirby had expertly picked her out inside a crowded penalty box.

The Chelsea forward second of the afternoon restored our lead after Weast Ham Rachel Daly tapped in at the back post to draw them level. This time Pernille Harder was the creator, firing in a low cross that the keeper could only palm into the path of the Australian.

Her third of the afternoon arrived 15 minutes later, and once again it was the simplest of tasks to turn the ball home from close range, following another brilliant pass from Kirby that was simply begging to be scored.

On 13 November 2019, Chelsea announced Kerr would be joining the club for the second half of the 2019–20 FA WSL season on a 2.5-year contract from Chicago Red Stars Kerr.

Kerr made her Chelsea debut against Reading on 5 January 2020 and scored her first goal against Arsenal on 19 January.

At the 2020 Women's FA Community Shield on 29 August 2020, profligate Kerr squandered a series of goal scoring opportunities before being substituted in Chelsea's 2–0 win over Manchester City.

The Blues currently sit in 3rd position with 17 points from seven games with one game to spare.
