Chelsea Players Excited As £53,500 Fine Under Lampard Is Thrown Out

Thomas Tuchel has since replaced Frank Lampard in the hot-seat at Chelsea and will take charge of his first match against Wolves at Stamford Bridge tonight (Wednesday).

The 47-year-old German is bound to make a number of changes in west London as he attempts to stamp his own authority on the side and resurrect their faltering season.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether one of them is the hefty list of fines Lampard created upon returning to Chelsea in 2019.

During his first season as head coach, a printed fine list was leaked online with Lampard’s signature visible at the bottom.

The total list of fines came to a whopping £53,500, with players punished for misdemeanours like wearing the wrong kit and unpunctuality.

If they reported late for training under Lampard, Chelsea stars would be fined £2,500.

They are also fined a staggering £20,000 if they arrived late for the start of the session itself.

Other fines included £5,000 for not travelling back from matches on the team coach and £10,000 for not reporting and illness or injury either before their day off or 90 minutes before training.

And if these fines were not paid within 14 days, they were doubled.

Tuchel is likely to implement his own list of fines at Chelsea, though time will tell how expensive they would be.
