Chelsea Players told to shun training as Lampard will be sacked this afternoon

Chelsea are set to sack Frank Lampard and confirmation is expected later today, according to reports.

The Blues boss has overseen a nightmare start to the campaign. And he’s now set to become the 14th managerial casualty of the Roman Abramovich era.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have lost patience with Lampard and the 42-year-old is poised to lose his job after 18 months at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been dire in the Premier League and currently sit ninth in the table, 11 points behind Manchester United at the top.

Lampard did well last season, steering the Blues into the Champions League despite the club being banned from making signings.

Players at Chelsea have been told not to report to training on Monday and the axe is poised to fall yet again, with the Blues showing no mercy in the past.
