CIES Football Observatory rates Trent Alexander-Arnold as 3rd most expensive footballer in the world

No other Liverpool player makes the top 10 but 8 others feature in the top 100.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been valued as the 3rd most expensive footballer in the world as per CIES Football Observatory’s valuation.

Here's the top 10 in full:

1. Marcus Rashford €165.6m

2. Erling Haaland €152m

3. Trent Alexander-Arnold €151.6m

4. Bruno Fernandes €151.1m

5. Kylian Mbappe €149.4m

6. Jadon Sancho €148.3m

7. Joao Felix €141.5m

8. Alphonso Davies €139.2m

9. Raheem Sterling €136.9m

10.Kai Havertz €136m

Other Liverpool players in the top 100 are: Mo Salah (€134.0m), Sadio Mane (€123.8m), Andy Robertson (€93.5m), Roberto Firmino (€87.4m), Virgil van Dijk (€83m), Diogo Jota (€82.1m), Alisson (€65.7m), Joe Gomez (€57.7m) are the other Reds to make it to the top 100.

CIES takes into account performances, age, years left on a contract: the last parameter explains Mbappe's position – he has just 18 months left on his PSG deal.

As 3 of the best players in the world are not in their prime, they're far from the top: Robert Lewandowski is 55st (valued at €72.1m), Leo Messi is only 97th (€54m) while Cristiano Ronaldo is only 131st (€47m).
