Rivaldo: 'Ter Stegen is the best goalkeeper in Barca's history, better than Victor Valdes'

Rivaldo believes that Ter Stegen and Valdes have similar playing styles the Brazilian claims that Marc is the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment.

"For me, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is the best goalkeeper I have ever seen at Barcelona, even ahead of Victor Valdes," Rivaldo has written in his Betfair column, as quoted by Marca.

"Many will not agree with me. I saw Valdes' first steps at Barcelona and it is true that they have a similar style, but despite this, I insist that I like Ter Stegen more, he seems better to me.

"Today, he is the best goalkeeper in the world. You can use many adjectives, but for me, it is not only that he is very good as a goalkeeper, but he is also very safe with the ball on his feet, a guarantee."

Ter Stegen joined Barcelona in 2014. Since then, he's made 252 appearances for the club, conceding 238 goals and keeping 106 clean sheets. The German has helped the club win 12 titles.
