Why I Didn’t Start Hudson-Odoi Against Fulham – Lampard

Lampard on Hudson-Odoi

Top premier league side, Chelsea finally won a premier league game for the first time in the new year yesterday at craven cottage, after their one nil win over Fulham.

When the match schedule became public, so many were left surprised with the players that have been given the nob by the manager.

The Chelsea winger whose performance for the past two weeks have been nothing but brilliant and outstanding, was delebrately and conspicuously omitted from the starting lineup.

But Frank Lampard has cleared the air after the game, when he was asked why Callum Hudson-Odoi started from the bench, here is what he said, ” yes, I had Leicester in mind. I’m delighted with how he’s playing at the minute. He will get many minutes for us.”

Callum Hudson-Odoi was not the only that was surprisingly missing from the start, Billy Gilmour was not used at all after his performance against Morecambe FC in the FA cup third round, instead Lampard opted for Jorginho who was woeful as expected.

Obviously, Chelsea have a strong schedule this week as they will next travel to Leicester City on Tuesday. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Billy Gilmour should be on the starting Eleven on Tuesday against Leicester City.
