Solskjaer Reveals Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Everton Clash

Double Injury Boost Everton Clash

Manchester United were in ruthless form as they smashed nine past Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday evening, and they face Everton at Old Trafford this weekend.

Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani were withdrawn in the 9-0 rout of Southampton.

The pair have been in fine form in recent weeks, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that both will be fit enough for the weekend visit of Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

On Cavani, he said: “He was good, but he got a bad tackle on his ankle so there was no point taking any risks.

“Hopefully it doesn’t swell up too much.”

Shaw made way for Donny van de Beek at the break, and Solskjaer said that move was more of a precaution as he sought to protect the full-back who has been in fine form of late.

“He has played really well,” he said

“Of course, we have Alex [Telles] who can cover and play well.

“With Luke, the intensity, the sprint, and high-speed running, we felt the spaces that appeared for him, if he played in the second-half the same way he played in the first-half you always run a risk.”
