Laporta reacts to Leo's departure from Barca: I watched Messi's debut for PSG. I didn't like it

In his interview for OnzeTV3, Joan Laporta opened up on Leo Messi's departure from Barcelona.

"We were pressured to either sign the CVC agreement with La Liga or not fall under the Financial Fair Play rules. There was no margin [to register Messi's contract]. We had had a pre-agreement for a long time but La Liga did not accept it.

"I saw Leo Messi's debut for Paris Saint-Germain. It was a strange feeling to see him in another shirt, to know that he won't be there and that we might face each other. I didn't like it.

"It is not the final that I thought for Leo at Barca, especially with me as the president.

"I have not spoken with Leo Messi since he left. We will have eternal gratitude towards him. Messi will always be a part of Barca. We'll see whether he'll be back in the future. We will not close ourselves to anything."
