Pique: Label Bartomeu the worst president in Barca's history

During his interview with La Sotana, Gerard Pique was asked whether he considered Josep Maria Bartomeu to be the worst president in Barcelona's history.

"I don't know if he was the worst, but for me, during my time, he's on the list for sure. We all make mistakes, but in his time, Barca weren't where they should be," the centre-back replied.

"The club has not gone where all the cules wanted. Now I am hopeful and excited. The next five or ten years will be very good for Barca."

The mismanagement that happened at the club during Bartomeu's reign is widely considered to be the main reason why the Catalans are currently experiencing a financial crisis.

Big transfer fees and inflated contracts were a staple of the previous board. And as a result of that, Barca had to part ways with the likes of Leo Messi and Antoine Griezmann this summer.
