PSG midfielder Verratti leaves Italy national team with knee discomfort.

Italy have officially confirmed that Marco Verratti has been allowed to leave the squad early despite them still having to face Lithuania.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is said to be having some discomfort in his knee after suffering a blow days earlier. The 28-year-old was only able to feature for 14 minutes in the match against Switzerland.

Verratti was injured at the start of the season but returned for the last two matches before the international break.

For now, it remains unclear how serious Marco's knock is. He is now expected to return to Paris.
