PSG open latter to La Liga president: 'You are directly and disrespectfully attacking the players'

In an open letter to La Liga president Javier Tebas, Paris Saint-Germain general secretary Victoriano Melero wrote: "You are directly and disrespectfully attacking the players, simply because they decided to leave your competition.

"Your comments on the age of these players not only insults their past and current roles in defining how our great game is played, but also the millions of fans around the world who idolize them.

"It is now publicly-known that Spanish clubs are facing unsustainable levels of debt after gross mismanagement. Not to mention the way Spanish football has been financed over the past decade — including by the state."

Tebas launched an attack on PSG on Wednesday, branding the oil-rich Ligue 1 side 'enemies of football' who are 'as dangerous as the Super League'.

The La Liga president also took a did at the ages of Paris' summer signings (34-year-old Lionel Messi and 35-year-old Sergio Ramos).
