PSG owner hit at Real Madrid and other Super League clubs

"I will not spend much time talking about 18 April and the 'not-so-Super League' because I do not like to focus on fabulists and failures," Al-Khelaifi was quoted by Marca.

"Together we defended the interests of European football for everyone. We relied on the resolve and strength of [UEFA] president [Aleksander Ceferin], who stood up to the midnight coup. He said 'we will win' and we did.

"While the three rebel clubs waste energies, twist narratives and continue to shout at the sky, the rest of us are moving forward," Al-Khelaifi added.

The PSG owner recently emerged as the head of the European Clubs' Association (ECA).

We understand why Al-Khelaifi can speak this way. The Parisians are not suffering the financial constraints being faced by other European big teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

PSG have, by far, the largest wage bill in European football as it is.
