Levante vs Atletico Madrid Prediction, Preview and Live Streaming 2021

Levante vs Atletico Madrid predictions for Thursday’s La Liga clash at Ciutat de Valencia. The champions are backed to secure a routine victory against winless Levante on Matchday 11.

Levante lost former Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi after 22 minutes against Sevilla, and he has now been ruled out for the next three weeks with an adductor tear, while Hernani's contract was terminated earlier this week.

Roger Marti, Sergio Postigo and Jose Campana are yet to rejoin training from their various issues but are thought to have slim chances of making the squad here, and Rober Pier should take Mustafi's spot in the heart of defence.

Pablo Martinez and Nemanja Radoja's spots are both at risk after they were withdrawn at half time against Sevilla - by which point Levante were 3-1 down - as Enis Bardhi and Mickael Malsa push for recalls here.

As for Atletico, Thomas Lemar was taken off with a muscular issue against Sociedad and is set to miss out this week, while the versatile Marcos Llorente continues to recover after exacerbating his thigh problem against Liverpool.

Stefan Savic and Geoffrey Kondogbia remain doubts for the contest but have not been ruled out entirely, although Simeone is reported to have already planned for the duo's potential absence this week.

The Argentine has supposedly tested a 5-2-3 formation with Suarez, Joao Felix and Antoine Griezmann all lining up from the first whistle in attack as Koke and Rodrigo de Paul feature in the middle.

Levante possible starting lineup:
Aitor; Miramon, Vezo, Pier, Clerc; Malsa; De Frutos, Melero, Bardhi, Morales; Soldado

Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup:
Oblak; Felipe, Gimenez, Hermoso; Trippier, Koke, De Paul, Carrasco; Felix, Suarez, Griezmann

  • The Old Lady have seen fewer than three go
  • Levante are without a league win this season, drawing five and losing five.
  • Atletico Madrid have lost just one of their opening nine games, winning five including three victories from four on the road.
  • Under 2.5 goals have been netted in seven of Levante’s outings this term and in the last three meetings between the sides.
Atleti out to avenge shock February reverse
Levante ran out shock 2-0 winners when these sides last met at Wanda Metropolitano in February, but Atletico Madrid can avenge that result in this Thursday’s clash at Ciutat de Valencia.

The loss to Levante was a rare blip in Atleti’s superb title winning campaign, however, questions will be asked this time around should Los Colchoneros fail to get the better of Granotas who are winless after their opening ten league games (D5, L5).

It’s fair to say that Atleti have been far from stellar up to press this term, though they’ve done enough to stay in amongst the early pace-setters with five wins, three draws and just one defeat from their first nine matches.

Indeed, a win here will at the very least keep them three points behind leaders Real Sociedad who they drew 2-2 against at the weekend, and Diego Simeone’s men also have an important game in hand up their sleeve.

Straightforward night ahead for the champions
Three of Atleti’s victories thus far have been posted from their four away trips, and while Levante have managed to avoid defeat in three of their four home starts, it’s difficult to envisage Javier Pereira’s men being good enough to earn anything from this fixture.

Their 5-3 beating at Sevilla on Sunday leaves Granotas second bottom in the early standings, and it looks like Levante have a long an arduous campaign ahead based on everything we’ve seen up to now.

It’s the champions to win this one for us, and with under 2.5 goals netted in seven of the hosts’ games this season and in the last three meetings between the teams, we’re also going for a 2-0 correct score prediction, which would see Levante fail to strike for the fifth time in six outings.
