Alisson blamed for "all three goals" as West Ham ends Liverpool's unbeaten run

Jamie Carragher has claimed Alisson could have done better for all of West Ham ’s goals in Liverpool ’s 3-2 defeat at the London Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp saw his side lose their long unbeaten record as the Hammers continued their brilliant start to the season.

Alisson endured a very difficult afternoon in the capital and Carragher believes he was partly to blame for all three strikes.

West Ham opened the scoring in the first half when Pablo Fornals’ wicked corner was turned into his own net by the Brazilian ‘keeper.

Liverpool players asked for a foul with Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma both making their presence felt in the area, but after a lengthy VAR check the goal was allowed.

The Reds equalised shortly before the break with Trent Alexander-Arnold whipping in a perfectly executed free kick.

But David Moyes’ side regrouped and set up to counter and did so effectively when Jarrod Bowen found Fornals to fire them back in front.

The Liverpool keeper didn’t cover himself in glory however, with Fornals’ shot still finding the net despite Alisson getting a strong hand to it.

Zouma then made it three, nodding in from a corner before Divock Origi got one back for the visitors to set up a grandstand finish.

Sadio Mane had a golden chance to earn his side a point, but skewed a gilt-edged chance wide of the post in stoppage time.

And speaking after the defeat, Liverpool legend Carragher suggested that Alisson was partly to blame for all of West Ham’s goals.

"Alisson should have done better on all three goals,” he told Sky Sports. "I think it was deserved. Forget about possession, in terms of big chances, West Ham looked more of a threat on the counter attack. Liverpool often got in and around the box and didn’t create too much.
