Asisat Oshoala Scores Again, Moves Up To 11 Goals In Nine Games

Barcelona Femini of Spain attacker, Asisat Oshoala took her haul of goals to 11 in nine appearances on Saturday, as she helped Las Blaugranes to yet another victory in the Spanish Women’s League.

Megasportsarena.com reports that ‘Super Zee’ was at her brilliant best against Ana Junyent’s women and was rewarded with one of the goals in her side’s 3-0 away victory over Eibar.

On the back on her fine form in Saturday’s Spanish top-flight outing, the Super Falcons’ captain kept up her blistering form in the 2021-22 campaign.

She increased her tally to help Barca continue their perfect start, as they bounced on the aura and ecstasy of their 3-1 away triumph over Madrid last time out.

However, Oshoala and her colleagues had to overcome an early onslaught, aa Eibar began the game on an impressive note and had the first chance at goal but Cata Coll saved a threatening free-kick.

Oshoala made her mark before being replaced in the 59th minute by Norwegian midfielder Ingrid Engen, with a lot of credit going to Crnogorcevic for troubling the hosts’ backline, as the reigning European champions took control of ball possession.

A report by goal.com added: “They took the lead in the 19th minute as Swiss star Ana Crnogorcevic headed a Lieke Martens cross past goalkeeper Noelia Garcia.

“Five minutes later, Oshoala doubled the advantage for the visiting side after tucking the ball inside an empty net following a goalmouth scramble in Eibar’s penalty area.

“In the goal-laden first half, Jonatan Giraldez’s side went three goals up six minutes before the half-time break courtesy of Jenni Hermoso who was teed up by Dutch star Maertens.

“Barca came close to scoring more goals before the break but they wasted those opportunities (and) while Maria Leon sent one over the crossbar, Claudia Pina’s powerful effort was saved by goalkeeper Noelia Garcia.

“Many would have predicted a harvest of goals in the second half but Eibar put up a solid defensive display to keep the scoreline decent.” Bimbo Adeola
