Almost 15,000 workers have reportedly died working to build stadiums for Qatar World Cup
Around 15,000 stadium workers have died in Qatar since the nation was awarded the rights to host the 2022 World Cup, as per ZDF Sportstudio.
This has been confirmed by renowned human rights’ group Amnesty International after an internal research.
Apart from the mass-deaths, many workers have been sent home with long-term health issues which can shorten their life-spans.
Many nations are protesting against the World Cup taking place in Qatar due to their controversies regarding human rights’ violations.
But, the competition is still scheduled to take place next November – which means the domestic campaign will be halted for some time in the winter period.
