Jude Bellingham fined €40,000 for match-fixing allegations on German referee
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has been given a €40,000 fine for his comments after his side’s 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich on Saturday.
The Englishman had slammed referee Felix Zwayer’s decisions in the game.
He claimed that the official shouldn’t have been made in charge of the game because of his history of match-fixing.
Bellingham had said: “You give a referee, that has match fixed before, the biggest game in Germany. What do you expect?”
Zwayer gave a crucial penalty to Bayern late in the game after Mats Hummels' handball which didn’t look intentional at all.
Dortmund have accepted the suspension, which means that Bellingham has avoided any match ban.
