The Men's World Team for 2021 released by IFFHS see's Lionel Messi registered as a midfielder.
The team is set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo leading the attack.
In midfield, Kevin de Bryune, Messi and Jorginho feature.
The defence is made up of Alphonso Davies, Ruben Dias, Leonardo Bonucci and Achraf Hakimi.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is in goal.
