Tuchel suggests position change for Saul to get best out of him

Saul Niguez has not had a strong impact at Chelsea since arriving here on loan in the summer. He was most recently booked in the win against Watford and had to be subbed off in what was a very average performance.

Thomas Tuchel said when asked of his player's form and future: "He's still adapting, he had a yellow card and was a bit shy to play all-in in duels.

"We lacked physicality as he didn't want to risk a red card [against Watford] which was a good thing. I think he could play in a wing-back role for us.

"He's very strong in arriving in the box, finishing and timing, and arriving on second ball. He could be a good fit. In the next games we may have to try it as Chilly is out long-term."

This suggests that the gaffer plans to use Saul in place of Marcos Alonso in a couple of games in the future. With the on-loan Spaniard not doing so well in the midfield, this might be a move worth trying.
