Juventus lost 2-1 to Inter Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana final on Wednesday, prompting manager Massimiliano Allegri to make a bizarre comment in his post-match interview.
Allegri told reporters: "The defeat burns. It seems that football was invented by the devil."
Inter Milan lifted the title amid jubilant celebrations while their Juve counterparts could only rue Alexis Sanchez's last-minute winning goal.
Juventus are in fifth place in the Serie A standings - 11 points behind leaders Inter.
It's a tight race between Inter and AC Milan this season, with the latter just one point behind.
