Nigeria President Sends Video Message to Super Eagles Players Ahead of Tunisia Tie, Hails Moses, Iheanacho

President Buhari has urged the Super Eagles to keep winning ahead of their round of 16 clash against Tunisia.

The President also had special mentions after calling Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon's names in the video call.

Both stars have been impressive at the tournament even as Eguavoen and Musa assured the president that Super Eagles won't let Nigeria down.

Ahead of their round of 16 clash against Tunisia, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the Super Eagles to make it four wins out of four at the ongoing AFCON 2021 in Cameroon. 

Buhari, who revealed that the Super Eagles have been making Nigerians proud, urge the team to go all the way to the final and bring home the title.

The Nigerian president said this while giving the team a pep talk on Sunday, January 23, via video conference ahead of their game against Tunisia. 

In a video posted on Super Eagles Twitter handle, Buhari particularly mentioned two of the Super Eagles stars who have really impressed him. They are Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon.

He then urged the Super Eagles to continue making Nigerians happy. 

Buhari was quoted as saying: 

“You’ve been doing Nigeria proud. You’ve been winning. Please keep on winning. The Federal Government is supporting you, and I say thank you to all the technical crew and the players. Please keep doing the country proud.” 



Interim coach of the team Augustine Eguavoen and captain Ahmed Musa thereafter thanked the president for taking out time to call the team, even as they assured that the Super Eagles won’t let Nigeria down.
