Real Madrid and Barcelona sign new 'non-aggression pact' with each other

Real Madrid have sealed a ‘non-aggression pact’ with arch-rivals Barcelona, claims Marca.

As per this new agreement, Real president Florentino Perez and Barca president Joan Laporta have agreed not to interfere with the contract renewals of players in their opposition club.

This means Madrid won’t look to unsettle the contract renewal talks of any Barcelona player in an attempt to seduce him to join them and vice versa.

This is not a written agreement, but more of a gentlemen’s spoken agreement done by the two club presidents.

Of course, once a player ends their contract with Barca or Real, the respective rival can look to negotiate deals with them.

Laporta and Perez have maintained a healthy working relationship over the last year and are still trying to get the Super League project running.
