'Recovery took longer than I expected': Messi breaks silence on contracting Covid

"Good afternoon! As you know, I had Covid and I wanted to thank you for all the messages I received and to tell you that it took me longer than I thought to recover.

I have almost fully recovered and I am really looking forward to getting back on the pitch," Leo Messi has written via Instagram.

Messi is only expected to come back on the pitch on January 23 as Paris Saint-Germain will take on Reims in Ligue 1.

The Argentine has already missed 11 games for the Parisians for various reasons.
