Tuchel: We are confident of keeping Rudiger at Chelsea

Antonio Rudiger had yet another solid performance as he scored the winner against Spurs and kept Harry Kane quiet for most of the game tonight.

The defender's contract expires at the end of this season and fans want just one thing - for Chelsea to extend his deal and keep him at Stamford Bridge.

Asked about the 'reality' of the circumstances and how he feels about the situation, Tuchel told Sky Sports: "Of course, we can keep him, we are confident [of that].

"We have things to offer, and he is a great player in the Chelsea shirt, in a Chelsea environment and he knows that very well."

It remains to be seen if Tuchel's confidence will translate to a contract for Rudiger but it's always a good sign to see the manager so assured.
