'We have to wait': Tuchel on Silva and Kante's availability against Spurs

Chelsea will go to the Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow with a 2-goal advantage, having won the first match 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante are still doubts for this game after contracting coronavirus. Tuchel said of their availability: "Right now I would say the same guys we had in the cup game, no news.

"No new injuries, which is good news for us. We have to wait for last-minute decisions on Thiago and N’Golo.

"Yeah (they are released from isolation). Cardiac tests. Covid tests. You have to follow some protocol to bring them back to training.”

“I don’t know. We have to wait, to see if they are ready in training and respond. If we do it it’s a gamble. I’m not sure if we do it and how much responsibility we can take there.

"We have to do it step by step and not at the moment am I sure if they come to training. If they come to training we have to see and decide there."

It would be good to have the two leaders and world-class players back. However, Chelsea do have a lead here so risking either player unless they are 100% fit would be a gamble - we'll just have to wait and see how the situation pans out.
