Bundesliga ready to introduce 'end-of-season play-offs' to end years of Bayern Munich domination

The Bundesliga could be set for a major revamp under new chief Donata Hopfen, according to the German media.

The German Football League (DFL) are reportedly ready to introduce end-of-season play-offs to combat the league's predictability.

The last nine Bundesliga titles have been claimed by Bayern Munich with the Bavarian giants looking likely to claim the championship this season as well.

However, 'most Bundesliga sides' are said to be against the controversial idea, including Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and even Union Berlin.

Nevertheless, new DFL president Hopfen said: "There are no taboos for me. If play-offs will help us, then we'll talk about play-offs."
