Liverpool to become first Premier League club with cryptocurrency firm as shirt sponsor

Liverpool could potentially become the first Premier League club to have a cryptocurrency firm as the main shirt sponsor, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The Merseysiders are in talks with cryptocurrency firms to sign a new deal from 2023, which is when their current contract with Standard Chartered will expire.

If the banking company refuses to extend its contract, Liverpool are believed to be progressing in talks with these crypto firms.

The Reds are looking for a deal that pays £70 million in two years, making it one of the highest shirt sponsor deals in the Premier League.

A decision is expected over the next two months, with Liverpool working to improve their commercial revenue.
