Eric Ten Hag Terminates His Ajax Contract Early

Erik ten Hag has cancelled his summer holidays to get to work with Manchester United.

The incoming manager has terminated his contract with Ajax six weeks early and is now getting started as United manager.

Ten Hag has refused to jet off on holiday and unwind before taking on the mammoth task of turning Manchester United back into Premier League title contenders.

Ralf Rangnick will take charge of just one last match at Old Trafford on the final day of the season when Man United travel to London to play Crystal Palace before the curtain comes down on a woeful campaign.

The best United can do is secure a sixth-place finish with a win against the Eagles after already failing to secure Champions League football for next season.

Ten Hag has weighted the world on his shoulders before even arriving at Old Trafford, where he is expected to quickly turn the Red Devils' fortunes around and bring the glory days back to United.

"It's time to turn the switch now," said Ten Hag, following Ajax's final game of the campaign, which finished level against Vitesse. "It's something that is needed because there is a lot to take care of and I have the energy for it.

"Tomorrow there will be a party with the (Ajax) staff, but I am not going to Curacao. I think that's understandable. There is a lot of work to do there (United). That is the case with every club."

He added: "A numb several still need to be organised in the staff and also in the selection [at Man United]. We will be working intensively on this from tomorrow."
