'I'm not going to lie': Xavi explains why Barca missed out on Haaland

"[Haaland to Man City?] It's not official. When it is, ask me again," Xavi has told the media.

"If I rule him out for us? I'm not going to lie to you, with our financial situation it's very difficult to sign him," the Barca boss added.

Barcelona would have to spend more than €100m to sign Erling Haaland this summer. The Norwegian is said to be on his way to signing for Manchester City.

The 21-year-old has scored 28 goals in 29 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season.
