Man United Set To Suspend End Of The Season Awards Following Request From Players

As per the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are set to cancel the end of the season awards following requests from the 'embarrassed' players.

Man Utd has undergone an awful season, with squad motivation at an all-time low, no Champions League football and several tragic performances.

A gala dinner is an elegant event where the club honours the Player of the Season both for the Academy as well as the first team. It's been a ritual for over a decade and is usually held in the final fortnight of the campaign.

It's not happening this time, however, with United's players feeling 'awkward' to attend the ceremony.

The Red Devils are likely to finish the 2021/22 Premier League season with their lowest points tally and it's no surprise that everyone just wants to move on.

Erik ten Hag has arrived in England and is said will be in attendance for the club's final game against Crystal Palace on May 22.
