Manchester United Delaying £180,000-a-week Contract For Luke Shaw
Manchester United have prepared a contract worth £180,000-a-week for Luke Shaw, whose current deal expires in 2023.
However, as per The Sun, the club have held off on extending Shaw's stay in the meantime.
The Red Devils are waiting for Erik ten Hag to take up his duties at the helm and allow the Dutchman to make the final decision.
United hold the option to extend Shaw's ongoing contract for another season till 2024 and there is a growing belief they will trigger it.
Shaw had a solid 2020/21 campaign but has somewhat faltered this term and is currently out recovering from an injury. As a result, Ten Hag wants to 'assess' Shaw's abilities before deciding if to hand him a new deal.
The Sun understands that United hold a similar view on Fred, whose contract also expires in 2023.
