Vincent Kompany could make Premier League return as new Burnley manager

Former Man City captain Vincent Kompany could make a return to the Premier League by becoming Burnley’s new manager.

As per The Athletic, the Belgian gaffer is being considered by the Clarets as the successor to Sean Dyche – who was sacked last month.

Kompany is appreciated by Burnley’s board and could be appointed as their manager in the summer if they’re able to avoid relegation.

The 36-year-old is currently working as the manager of Belgian side Anderlecht after having retired as a player in 2020.

However, he faces competition from Bodo Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen – who has impressed many after helping the Norwegian side reach the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League this season.

Burnley are currently 2 points above the relegation zone, but have played one game more than 18th place Everton.
