Arsene Wenger: 'If Mbappe had been born in Cameroon, he wouldn't have become the striker he is today'

Speaking to ESPN FC, Arsene Wenger said: "Kylian Mbappe has African roots but was trained in Europe.

"If he'd been born in Cameroon, he wouldn't have become the striker he is today.

"There's Europe and there’s the rest of the world. The latter needs help, otherwise, we're going to miss a great deal of talent."

Wenger is currently employed at FIFA and the former Arsenal manager is working on helping young African talents to break through despite the difficulties.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez could serve as a source of inspirations to struggling young African players.
