Jules Kounde has told Sevilla that he wants to leave, with Barcelona being his priority destination, as per Mundo Deportivo.
However, Barca does not have any room in their salary limit to fix the defender, plus they simply can't pay the €65-70m Sevilla are quoting for him.
To overcome the bottleneck, the Blaugrana plan to include Sergino Dest and Francisco Trincao in a swap deal to reduce Kounde's price tag.
To make room for Kounde's salary, Barca plans to offload deadwood like Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti, and Oscar Mingueza. They also expect Gerard Pique to lower his salary.
