Chelsea to offer Reece James improved contract to fight off Madrid interest
Chelsea's new owner Todd Boehly wants to offer Reece James a new contract to fight off interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City, British outlet Daily Mail report.
Real Madrid have Reece as a long-term target, perhaps viewing him as a future replacement for Dani Carvajal. It appears that they won't make a move for the right-back this summer.
James has a contract with Chelsea until 2025 and is valued at €60m by Transfermarkt.
In the 2021/22 season, the 22-year-old recorded six goals and 10 assists in 39 matches.
