'It's a worry for the rest of the Premier League': Jamie Carragher gives verdict on Erling Haaland signing

Speaking on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher said: "Erling Haaland at Manchester City is a worry for the rest of the Premier League. We are talking about one of the world's greats, even at such a young age.

"But I don't think anyone should be raising the white flag too early because it is going to be really interesting how he fits into the team. Pep Guardiola hasn't really used a central striker for the last couple of years.

"So it will be interesting to see how he settles. From the league's point of view, I think it is fantastic that we have got one of the world's leading players right now joining our league. That doesn't always happen.

"And certainly not at a young age. Most of his best years are going to be in the Premier League. It is really exciting for everyone to watch but it is going to be a tough proposition next season to stop Manchester City."

Haaland has been officially as Man City's latest signing, joining Guardiola's side from Borussia Dortmund for a fee reported initial fee of £51 million.

It has been suggested that the Spaniard will not be altering his style of play for the 20-year-old, instead telling the player to adapt to Man City's ways.
