'I've not been 100 per cent': Sergi Roberto reacts to new Barca contract

"I'm very happy to continue here in the club of my life, I've been here since I've been 14 years old," Sergi Roberto told Barca TV.

"So having this extra year is so important for me, especially after the last two years where I've had quite a lot of problems, especially physical problems - I've not been 100 per cent and I've not been able to play how I know and enjoy playing.

Speaking about Xavi's influence in his new deal, Roberto said: "I want to say my gratitude to the coach. From the first moment he was here he's always been very confident in me.

"He [Xavi] told me to forget about this injury and recover a 100 per cent."

Roberto has been out for six months now and hasn't played under Xavi. However, the club has rewarded the veteran with a one-year deal.
